Hello everyone!
2011 was a really big year for us! We played more shows in one year than we had for the previous three years combined. We won an (inter)national contest hosted by Shure, got flown to Texas to play RedGorilla Music Festival, and hung out at SXSW. We opened for Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto, The Toasters, and The Allstonians, and played tons of local shows with our friends Short Handed Goal, Threat Level Burgundy, Defenders of Pluto, and more. We booked our own road trip across the northeast and traded shows with No Such Noise. And to top it all off, we released our split EP with Threat Level Bugundy on Dec 29! (Check it out at our online store).
So, thank you, our friends, fans, and family, for a successful and exciting 2011. None of this would have been possible without your support. We love seeing you guys at all our shows and spending time together. Now, here's to an even more exciting 2012!
And now a video for you from our EP release show:
Our show with Reel Big Fish and Streetlight Manifesto this past Sunday was a rousing success! Every single one of you who made it out that night helped us have a blast. Sadly, no videotaking was allowed, but the night will live in our collective memory!
We're working a lot of new shows for this winter and 2012. More on that as it develops!
Hey everyone! That's right, the rumors are true...Llama Tsunami is going to be playing at the Webster with Reel Big Fish and Streetlight Manifesto on Sunday, November 27!
We're really excited because after all, who doesn't love these guys? (Rhetorical question...if you don't like 'em, oh well).
Anyway, tickets are only $21 if you get them from us, so make sure you see one of the band members OR head over to our web store and order them online...we'll mail them for freesies!

Everyone has to come out to this show...it's going to be insane! :)
Who ya gonna call?!

We had tons of fun playing in Boston and Norwich this Halloween weekend! We won best group costume. ;)
So, we've been relatively quiet recently...but don't dispair. We're working on some really cool news that we'll be announcing within the next couple of weeks. So stay tuned! :)
As the summer draws to a close, let's take some time to reflect on the things we have learned:
- Ska is most certainly not dead.
- Gas is cheaper everywhere that isn't CT.
- Putting too much equipment in a van and running over shards of broken glass will most likely result in flat tires.
- Plugging a flat tire only costs $20.
- New Hampshire is awesome.
- Planning and preparation are important. When you don't plan ahead, it shows.
- It gets really, really hot in Ben's basement. Really hot.
- Bret is a champ.
- God and Mother Nature do not want us to have a music video.
- Our friends and fans are absolutely the greatest human beings. Every one of our shows this summer has been awesome thanks to YOU GUYS.
Our annual end of summer show is Tues, Aug 23 at the Waterford VFW. See you there! (Event)
This past week without any shows has been really great for the Llama family. We've been working hard on new material and planning a really exciting surprise for all of you! Just you wait and see what we have in store. ;)
That said, our next little shindig is on Tues, Aug 9 at Dodd Stadium! We're playing before the CT Tigers game, so you should come catch our set then hang out with us at a baseball game in true American fashion. For tickets click here.
Alright, now it's time to organize the practice space after this chaotic (but amazing) summer. Let's do this!
Oh wow...so long without an update. We're totally slacking on this whole website thing. Anyway, our time on the road was really awesome and we made a ton of new friends all over the place! Since then, we've been playing around CT and RI and generally having an awesome time.
Our new EP is finally ready to be mastered and pressed...so be prepared for some new tunes! Until then, check out our upcoming shows and maybe we'll see you there! :)
And so we're departing on our week-long roadtrip today! This is really exciting, and a culmination of a lot of hard work, so we're going to have an awesome time. Just look at all the excitement coming up! We're going to try and update our Twitter and Facebook a lot, so go follow us or whatever and be part of the fun!

]
Friday night was our third show at Three Rivers Community College set up by...get this...their SKA CLUB. That's right folks, the CT scene is not dead. It is very much alive and kicking.
We had a great time with our friends in Threat Level Burgundy, Lamp Attack, and Survay Says. We even formed a new supergroup: Threat Level Llama Attack, AKA Too Big For the Stage AKA Potato Bandana or something. The name isn't important.
This was our last show with our awesome guitar player, Justin, for a while. He's going abroad to Spain for a month to take some classes and be the only member of the band with a real job when he gets out of college. Wish him buena suerte if you see him before he leaves!
We're taking a couple weeks off while all our faraway members return from their various colleges, and then we're hitting two state capitals in two days! The Webster in Hartford, CT on May 21, and The Ruins in Providence, RI on May 22. Check our shows page for more info.
Woo hoo! See y'all later!
WOAH! Check it out! A brand new design! This is super exciting. Click around, check out the new stuff. There are a couple of things we're still working on, so check back for new updates.
Other than that, see you on Friday at Three Rivers for the Skank Like You Mean It benefit concert for the MS Society of CT! We'll be playing with our friends Threat Level Burgundy, Lamp Attack, and Survay Says.
NFAid last night was lots of fun...tons of people singing and dancing. Thanks guys! See you all at Three Rivers on May 6!
NEWS NEWS NEWS: We recently "changed" our name...really we just shortened it. We are now officially simply "Llama Tsunami." As a result we lost all our Facebook fans (because you can't change your name unless you have fewer than 100 fans apparently) so go to http://www.facebook.com/llamatsunami and "Like" us!
ALSO...we're competing for a slot on the WARPED TOUR this year! If you want to help, all we need is your vote. Go here: http://www.battleofthebands.com/u/llamatsunami.
Lots of links, and we've got some awesome stuff in store for this summer, including an EP and tour with Threat Level Burgundy! Llama love for all!
So it's been a while since our last update...sorry about that, folks! We were just so busy having an AWESOME TIME down in Austin at RedGorilla and SXSW! There will be pictures and video up soon, so don't be a stranger.
In the meantime, check out this recording of our live set at AS220 March 12!
We're going to TEXAS!
So, as many of you might already know, we won the Shure Give It Voice competition, which means that we get to perform in Austin, TX during the RedGorilla Music Festival! Also, we take home $10,000 worth of Shure gear...our horns will never worry about mics again, hopefully!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, every one of you who voted! You made this happen for us, and we can never tell you how much we appreciate it. :)
The guys over at Shure made us a cool webpage, so check it out: http://giveitvoice.shure.com!
There is so much going on in Llama-land these days! We won the Boston leg of the Shure Give It Voice Tour, and now we're in the running for the national grand prize, an all expense paid trip to Austin, TX to play at the RedGorilla Music Festival! Go to http://giveitvoice.shure.com to vote for us!
Also, we're finally going head-to-head with our rivals Lamp Attack this coming Saturday. Check the shows above for the details.
We also updated our YouTube with a lot of videos we found from old shows. Here's one of us covering "Come On Eileen." Our friend Jo filmed it for us last summer!
WE DID IT!
Thank you so much everyone who voted in the Shure Give it Voice contest! We placed first in the nation (and Canada, eh?), which means we're going to play at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston!!! This is probably the best venue we've ever played, and it's totally free, so you should come out and hang with us.
Other than that, we've been playing with these guys Threat Level Burgundy a lot recently. You should check them out because they're really sweet. Okay, bye for now!
This weekend was killer! We played two holiday themed benefit shows: one at Three Rivers in Norwich to benefit the Special Olympics of CT and another at Firehouse 13 in Providence for Toys for Tots. Our new friends Threat Level Burgundy played both shows with us...check them out, they're great! We made tons of other friends too, and a new archenemy. All in all, a fantastic weekend.
Be prepared for everything to be a little quiet on the show front for a while as we write and record new material! But if you want to force us out of hibernation...go vote for us in the Shure Give It Voice competition so we can play the Paradise in Boston! That would be awesome of you.
So, it's been a while since our last update! That's because we're all at college and stuff...but that doesn't mean we haven't been super busy! We played a couple awesome shows at AS220 in Providence over the past couple months and made a lot of new friends...and we have a couple more shows on the way that you won't want to miss. We even cleaned Ben's basement and rearranged it...crazy, right?
Here's a video for you to watch if you're bored.
