lyrics

Let me take you back to when it all began
We were all together and we were the best of friends
Despite our better judgment we decided to form a ska band
How could we have known the way it would end?

From the very start, he didn't know his part but he know how to party
He had a beat up horn and his humor was a bit uncouth
But you gotta admit that guy could get the ladies started
And his facial hair was something to behold

A few years down the road, he never missed a show; he came to every one
But he started to wonder if we would notice if he was gone
So he packed his trumpet up one day, got in his car, and he drove away
We were begging him to stay, now we're sorry to say

Josh quit the band
Said we'd never understand his reasons
We took advantage and took for granted he'd be there at the show
We thought it was an empty threat; now it's all over the internet
Nothing is going as we planned
Josh quit the band

As the days went by we realized he was never coming back
We'd have to get along without him
Still it seems that he is taunting us on every track
It's like he never left; his trumpet’s in my ear

Josh quit the band
Said we'd never understand his reasons
We took advantage and took for granted he'd be there at the show
We thought it was an empty threat; now it's all over the internet
Nothing is going as we planned
Josh quit the band
